CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION IMPOSING A TEMPORARY
MORATORIUM ON THE ISSUANCE OF IRRI-
GATION PERMITS ALLOWING FOR THE
INSTALLATION, CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR
OF IRRIGATION SYSTEMS THAT HAVE AS
THEIR SOURCE OF WATER SUPPLY THE
CANALS, PONDS, LAKES AND/OR DRAINAGE
DITCHES WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL BOUND-
ARIES OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC; PROVID-
ING A PERIOD OF MORATORIUM; PROVIDING
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
has determined, upon investigation and inquiry, that the under-
ground water supply and water table which, in part, supplies the
City with water is in jeopardy of being diminished to dangerous
Levels, and
WHEREAS, the water resources of Broward County and the
City of Tamarac are directly related to the health, safety and
welfare of the citizenry of the City of Tamarac, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac has
determined that it is within the best interest of the citizens of
the City of Tamarac to impose a moratorium suspending the issuance
of permits for the installation, construction and repair or irri-
gation systems that have as their source of water supply the
canals, ponds, lakes and/or drainage ditches within the municipal
boundaries of the City of Tamarac,
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: There is hereby imposed a temporary moratorium
on the issuance of permits for the installation, construction and
repair of irrigation systems that have as their source of water
supply the canals, ponds, lakes and/or drainage ditches within the
municipal boundaries of the City of Tamarac.

Section 2: The temporary moratorium imposed hereunder
shall continue for a period of ninety (90) days from the effective
date of this Resolution.
Section 3: The Building Department of the City of Tamarac,
Florida, is hereby directed to withhold the issuance of permits
for the installation, construction and repair of irrigation systems
that have as their source of water supply the canals, ponds, lakes
and/or drainage ditches within the municipal boundaries of the City
of Tamarac, and to cease the acceptance of applications for the
issuance of said permits under Ordinance No. 74-55 and other appli-
cable Ordinances of the City of Tamarac, until such time as the
temporary moratorium imposed hereunder is terminated by the terms
hereof or by further action of the City Council of the City of
Tamarac, Florida.
Section 4: This Resolution shall take effect immediately
upon its passage.
