CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. 7S-�2,
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE
OF A MAYORAL PROCLAMATION PROCLAIMING
THE MONTH OF MAY 1975 AS POPPY MONTH
AND PROCLAIMING MAY 23 AND MAY 24 AS
POPPY DAY IN THE CITY OF TAMARAC; PRO-
VIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the American Legion has designated the month of
May, 1975, as Poppy Month and has designated the 23rd and 24th
days of May, 1975, as Poppy Days, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
recognizes that the freedom enjoyed by the citizenry of the City
of Tamarac and the United States of America has been guaranteed by
the ultimate sacrifice of so many American patriots, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
on behalf of the residents of the City of Tamarac, Florida, is
desirous of commemorating those great American patriots who have
protected America from her enemies, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac recognizes the great and
fruitful efforts of the organization known as the American Legion
in honoring the Country's war dead and in rendering aid to the
widows and children of those great patriots who have committed
their lives to the safety and protection of America,
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
on behalf of the citizenry of the City of Tamarac, does hereby
recognize and reaffirm its gratitude to all of the war veterans who
have sacrificed themselves in an effort to protect the citizens of
the United States of America, without which the great American
tradition of freedom would be imperilled.

Section 2: It is within the best interest of the
citizenry of the City of Tamarac to commemorate those great
American patriots who have sacrificed to protect the freedom
enjoyed by all Americans and, therefore, the City Council of
the City of Tamarac, Florida, does hereby direct that the
Mayor issue a proclamation proclaiming the month of May, 1975,
as Poppy Month and the days of May 23rd and May 24th, 1975,
as Poppy Days in the City of Tamarac.
Section 3: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passaae.
