CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE CITY OF TAMARAC'S OPPOSITION
TO A PROPOSED BUILDING MORATORIUM BEING CONSIDERED BY
THE BMWARD COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS IONERS.
WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Council of
the City of Tamarac, Florida, that a proposed building moratorium is being
considered by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, believes that the
comprehensive plan submitted to the Broward County Planning Council by the
City of Tamarac is a c Tlete and thorough analysis of those factors which
must be considered in comprehensive land planning, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, further concluded
that although cooperation with Broward County and with other municipalities
is paramount in the submission of comprehensive plans for ultimate consider-
ation by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners that, to mandate
a building moratorium in the City of Tamarac would suggest that the City of
Tamarac did not sufficiently investigate all relevant facts concerning land
development within its corporate limits, and,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, believes that a
question of a building moratorium in Broward County should be considered by
each municipality, depending upon the comprehensive plan that is submitted
and other relevant factors pertaining to said municipality,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac, opposes any
plan to create a County -wide building moratorium inasmuch as the City Council
believes that the comprehensive plan submitted reflects responsible land
development pasr!- and proposed within the corporate limits, and further that
said City Council sees no necessity for a building moratorium in the City.of
Tamarac.
SECTION 2: That the City Clerk is instructed to forward a copy of
this Resolution to the Broward County Board of County Commissioners.

SECTION 3: This Resolution becomes effective immdiately upon
its passage.
