RESOLUTION NO.I
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THAT PORTION OF
BROWARD COUNTY SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT BUDGET WHICH
RELATES DIRECTLY TO THE SERVICES PERFORMED BY THE
SHERIFF'S ROAD PATROL SYSTEM, BE PAID BY THE CITIZENS
OF BROWARD COUNTY, WHO RESIDE IN THE UNINCORPORATED
AREAS, AND FURTHER SOLICITING THE AID OF THE BROWARD
COUNTY COMMISSION IN EQUITABLY LEVYING TAXES BETWEEN
THE CITIZENS OF INCORPORATED AND UNINCORPORATED AREAS
OF BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, Florida recognizes the
need for continued services performed by the Broward County
Sheriff's Department , and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, Florida likewise recognizes
that those citizens of Broward County who specially benefit from
one portion of the services rendered by the Broward County
Sheriff's Department, to the exclusion of other Broward County
residents, should pay for those services so rendered.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida likewise specifically requests the Board of County
Commissioners to levy a special tax in the unincorporated areas
of Broward County to pay for that portion of the Broward County
Sheriff's Department budget which relates directly to the
performance of services by the Broward County Road Patrol System
in the unincorporated areas of Broward County, Florida.
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida futher solicits the aid of the Board of County Commissioners
in equitably levying taxes between the citizens of incorporated
and unincorporated areas of Broward County, Florida.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
