CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. i(,.n
A RESOLUTION DECLARING AN INTENT TO ENTER INTO
A CONTRACT FOR PROCESSING OF SOLID WASTE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, Florida, having reviewed the
preliminary data submitted by Titan Environmental Services,(TES)
a division of Titan Group Inc., Paramus, N.J., relative to a TES
regional resource recovery facility to be located in Broward
County, declares its interest to enter into a long-term service
agreement with TES for the processing of all its solid waste at
said facility; and
WHEREAS, this Resolution is subject, to the following conditions;
A. that the City of Tamarac shall in no way be obligated to
furnish or repay any bonds issued for the purpose of funding
the construction of the facility.
B. the City of Tamarac shall only pay such processing service fees
as may be in the future agreed to with TES by the City;
C. that TES obtains long-term purchase agreements for the sale of
recovered energy and materials;
D. that 750 of the revenues from recovered energy and 600 of all
the revenues from recovered materials are credited to all
facility users;
E. that TES shall submit a suggested long-term service agreement
for review, study and negotiation; if necessary, by the City.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: that the City Manager is hereby authorized to issue
to TES a letter expressing the City's interest to enter into a long-
term contract with TES for the processing of all City solid waste,
subject to the provision of this Resolution.
SECTION 2:
that the City Manager will inform TES in said
letter that the City retains the right to express a similar interest
to any other concern that may be willing to provide said services
to the City.
