HomeMy WebLinkAboutCity of Tamarac Resolution R-76-100Proposed by:__,[�r',//(.�-d Temp. #576 Introduced by: �I 1 CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA RESOLUTION NO. ;I —leG) A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING AN EMERGENCY CONDITION, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO PURCHASE NECESSARY CANAL CLEANING CHEMICALS, AFTER SECURING PROPOSALS FOR SAME. WHEREAS, Section 7.12 of the Charter of the City of Tamarac provides a means for direct procurement for necessary supplies and services by the City Manager, when an emergency exists, and WHEREAS, the City Manager has informed the City Council that certain canal cleaning chemicals must be purchased immediately, to protect the health, safety and welfare of the community, and WHEREAS, such emergency is not contrived, but is a result of heavy rainfall during the past months, and an unusual growth of canal weeds, and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of the City of Tamarac, to authorize the City Manager to purchase necessary canal cleaning chemicals. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The Council finds an emergency exists which affects the safety, health and welfare of the City. SECTION 2: The Council finds it necessary because of said emergency, and in order to protect the City, to provide, by Resolution, an authorization for the City Manager to arrange for the direct procurement of necessary canal cleaning chemicals, after the Manager has secured proposals for such chemicals. 1 A SECTION 3: In accordance with Section 7.12 of the City Charter, the City Manager shall report to the Council concerning his actions taken in accordance with this Resolution.
