CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA

A RESOLUTION DECLARING MUNICIPAL CODE
WORK TO BE A PROFESSIONAL SERVICE AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND THE
CITY ATTORNEY TO NEGOTIATE A CONTRACT
FOR MUNICIPAL CODE WORK.
WHEREAS, the City Council has received an opinion from
the City Attorney, that Municipal Code Work is a Professional
Service, and
WHEREAS, under Section 7.14 of the City Charter, contracts
for Professional Services may be entered into without public
competitive bidding, and
WHEREAS, the City Council is now desirous of authorizing
the City Manager and City Attorney to negotiate a contract for
Municipal Code Work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council hereby declares that
Municipal Code Work is a Professional Service, based upon the
opinion of the City Attorney, contracts for which under Section
7.14 of the City Charter, may be entered into without public
competitive bidding.
SECTION 2: That the Council hereby authorizes the
City Manager and City Attorney to negotiate a contract for
Municipal Code Work and to report to the City Council the
results of such negotiation.
