CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION URGING THE BROWARD COUNTY
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO TAKE
WHATEVER ACTION IS NECESSARY TO ESTABLISH
THE IMPROVEMENT OF SOUTHGATE BOULEVARD
FROM UNIVERSITY DRIVE TO NOB HILL ROAD
AS HAVING FIRST PRIORITY.
WHEREAS, the Broward County Board of County
Commissioners adopted Resolutions for the construction and improve-
ment of Southgate Boulevard in the City of Tamarac, and
WHEREAS, the construction project was divided up into
two (2) segments, one of which is from University Drive East to
State Road 441 and the other segment being from University Drive
to Nob Hill Road to serve the western section of the city, and
WHEREAS, the Broward County Board of County
Commissioners has determined the segment of Southgate Boulevard
from University Drive to State Road 441, should have priority over
the construction of Southgate Boulevard from University Dirve to
Nob Hill Road, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has, and continues to
have surface water drainage problems in the western section of the
City which will be alleviated and improved by the construction of
Southgate Boulevard from University Drive to Nob Hill Road, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac,
would strongly suggest that the priority of construction between
the two segments be reversed and the Board of County Commissioners
consider the improvement of Southgate Boulevard from University
Drive to Nob Hill Road be established as having first priority and
said improvement be completed as expeditiously as possible.

NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION l: That the City of Tamarac does hereby
urge the Broward County Board of County Commissioners to take the
necessary action to install the improvement and construction of
Southgate Boulevard from University Drive to Nob Hill Road as having
first priority of said Southgate Boulevard improvement.
SECTION 2: The City Clerk is instructed to
communicate a copy of this Resolution to each member of the Broward
County Board of County Commissioners immediately upon its adoption.
