A RESOLUTION REQUESTING BROWARD COUNTY-S BOARD OF
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO ASSIST TAMARAC IN THE CON-
STRUCTION OF A PARALLEL ACCESS ROAD AND APPURTENANCES
THERETO ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF UNIVERSITY DRIVE ALONG
BLOCKS 11 $ 12 OF LYONS COMMERCIAL SUBDIVISION #3
AS RECORDED IN BROWARD COUNTY'S RECORDING DIVISION.
WHEREAS, the City Council of City of Tamarac is desirous of providing a
parallel access road to certain lands adjacent to the east right-of-way of University
Drive, the same being Blocks 11 & 12 of Lyons Commercial Subdivision No. 3 in order
to promote a greater degree of traffic safety for all of the motorists in Tamarac
and Broward County, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the procedures set forth in Ordinance 75-23 of the
Tamarac City Code, the City Council adopted Resolution 76-48 wherein a special
assessment district was provided in order to collect from the benefited property
owners their proportionate share of the costs of the project after constructing the
parallel access road, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac feels in order to expedite the construction
of the parallel access road it would be in the best interest of all parties for
Broward County to either construct the parallel access road or provide the necessary
funds which would be reimbursed upon receipt of the special assessments collected
from each property owner.
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Tamarac requests consideration
from the Board of County Commissioners to either implement the construction of the
parallel access road according to the drawings prepared by Broward County's Engineering
Department or appropriate the necessary funds in order for the City of Tamarac to
construct the parallel access road and appurtenances thereto.
SECTION 2: Upon receipt of the proportionate share from each benefited
property owner, the City of Tamarac will reimburse Broward County for the construction
of this project.
