RESOLUTION NO..j
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO MAKE DIRECT PROCUREMENT OF SIGN MATERIALS.
WHEREAS, the City Manager has notified the City Council that sign
materials must be purchased to protect the health, safety and welfare of
the community, and
WHEREAS, Section 7.11 of the Charter requires public bidding on all
procurements on behalf of the City involving dollar values in excess of
$2,000.00, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has secured a price of $6,725.02 for said
materials from 3M Company, and
WHEREAS, 3M Company is the sole source of such materials and has
been awarded a State bid which is applicable to all units of Government in
Florida, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of the City
of Tamarac, to authorize the City Manager to purchase the necessary sign
materials.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FIORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Council, based upon the aforestated reasons,
finds it necessary, in order to protect the City, to provide by Resolution
an authorization for the City Manager to arrange for direct procurement of
the necessary sign materials.
