CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. ?&- g 7
A RESOLUTION OFFERING THE COURT FACILITIES,
LOCATED IN THE CITY OF TAMARAC TO BROWARD
COUNTY, FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A SATELLITE
COUNTY COURT TO SERVE THE WESTERN SECTION
OF BROWARD COUNTY AFTER JANUARY 1. 1977.
WHEREAS, a Constitutional amendment abolished the
municipal court system of the State of Florida effective
January 1, 1977, and
WHEREAS, all pending and future legal matters
formerly handled by the municipal courts of Broward County
will be transferred to the Broward County Court system, and,
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the Chief
Judge of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court will estab-
lish satellite County courts to serve the various geographic
areas of the County for the convenience of the residents of
Broward County, and
WHEREAS, one area of the County to be served by
a satellite County court will be in the western section of
Broward County, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, being located in
the western section of Broward County is desirous of offer-
ing its court facilities as a site for the County court, and
WHEREAS, the facilities available in the City of
Tamarac, together with the efficient experienced help, would
make an ideal location for the County court designated for
the western section of Broward County,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL:

1. That the City of Tamarac does hereby offer
for consideration, the exceptional fine facilities and ex-
perienced help, located in the City Hall of the City of
Tamarac, for the purposes of establishing a satellite County
court to serve the citizens of the western section of Broward
County.
2. That the City Manager and City Attorney of
the City of Tamarac, be and are instructed to communicate
with Chief Judge John M. Moore, of the Seventeenth Judicial
Circuit, to offer the facilities of the City of Tamarac,
to assist and cooperate with the Court and/or other Broward
County officials, indicating the advantages of locating the
proposed satellite County court of the western section of
Broward County in the City of Tamarac.
3. The Clerk is instructed to send a copy of
this resolution to the Chief Judge, the State Attorney, and
the Clerk of Courts, for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit
in and for Broward County, Florida.
