CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.��--�3
A RESOLUTION TO THE BROWARD COUNTY SCHOOL
BOARD OPPOSING A PROPOSAL FOR REDISTRICTING.
OF THE NORTH AREA SCHOOL BOUNDARIES, WHICH
PROVIDES FOR THE TRANSFERRING OF TAMARAC
SCHOOL CHILDREN TO THE BLANCHE ELY HIGH
SCHOOL LOCATED IN POMPANO BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, the Broward County School Board, has under
consideration, a proposal of North Area "Superintendent Norman Sigler
to redistrict the school boundaries for the North Area school districts
and,
WHEREAS, the proposal would provide for school
children residing- in Tamarac, and attending public schools in the
immediate area, to be transferred to Blanche Ely High School,
located in Pompano Beach, Florida, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Tamarac, does
hereby unequivocally state their opposition to the Broward
County School Board adopting a redistricting plan which would
require transferring Tamarac school children, from their present
schools, to the.Blanche Ely High School, located in Pompano
Beach, Florida.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
SECTION 1: That the. Broward County School Board
reject the proposal of North Area Superintendent, Norman Swlgler., _
to redistrict the North Area school boundaries requiring the
transfer of Tamarac school children from schools in the immediate"`
area to the Blanche Ely High School located in Pompano Beach,
Florida.

SECTION 2: That the Broward County School Board
consider at the earliest possible date, a plan to provide and con -
Sider adequate secondary schools for the school children residing
in the City of Tamarac.
SECTION 3: The Clerk is directed to transmit a copy of
this Resolution to the individual members of the Broward County
School Board for their consideration.
SECTION 4: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
