CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION N0. `� '��'1-3CD.
A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC WHEREIN FORMAL OPPOSITION
TO THE REZONING OF A PORTION OF TAMARAC
COUNTRY CLUB IN ORDER TO ALLOW RESIDENTIAL
DEVELOPMENT IS DECLARED; PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the residents of Tamarac Lakes South selected
their homes adjacent to the scenic and tropical Tamarac Country Club, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac have been
informed of proposed rezon i ngs of,a portion of Tamarac Country Club for
medium density residential development in unicorporated Broward County and
Ft. Lauderdale, the same being Petition #14-Z-76 and Petition #10-Z-77 res-
pectfully, and
WHEREAS, the final draft of Broward County Land Use Plan
designated Tamarac Country Club in the commercial recreational land use
category, which specifically excludes residential development and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac deplores
the constant overdevelopment of Broward County's primary native resource,
scenic open space.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
C I TY OF TAMARAC, FLOR I DA:
SECTION 1 : That Petition #14-Z-76 proposed in Broward
County and Petition #10-Z-77 in Ft. Lauderdale should be denied since
they are not only inconsistent with Broward County Planning Council's
Proposed Land Use Plan, 1977, but also represent the typical overdevel-
opment of Florida's natural flora and fauna which must be terminated in.
order for Broward County to be preserved for future generations.
SECTION 2 : That the City Clerk of the City of Tamarac
is directed to forward copies of this resolution to Ft.- Lauderdale's
Commission and Planning and Zoning Board and Broward County's Board of
County Commissioners, Zoning Board and Planning Council.
