CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-78-10
A RESOLUTION TO PLACE A REFERENDUM
QUESTION ON THE GENERAL ELECTION
BALLOT REGARDING THE ACQUISITION OF
LAND AND THE CONSTRUCTION AND FURNISHING
OF A FIRE STATION TO BE LOCATED IN THE
EASTERN AREA OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC.
WHEREAS, the City Council has received reports of the
City Manager, Fire Chief, and the Fire Advisory Committee
recommending the acquisition of land and construction of a fire
station to serve the eastern areas of the City of Tamarac, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it a matter of serious
public concern in the interests of health, safety and welfare
to acquire a land site and to develop a fire station to serve
the eastern areas of the City, and desires to instruct and direct
the City Clerk to place this question on the General Election
ballot as a referendum item.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The referendum question to appear on the
March 14, 1978 General Election ballot shall be as follows:
"Shall the City of Tamarac expend up to
$370,000.00 for the purpose of purchasing
a land site in the eastern area of the
City of Tamarac and for the purpose of
constructing and furnishing a fire station
thereon, the acquisition and land improve-
ments to be paid for either by the issuance
of municipal bonds or through the best
financing arrangement available, and for
a term not to exceed fifteen (15) years?
FOR THE PROPOSITION
AGAINST THE PROPOSITION of
SECTION 2: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
instructed to place the foregoing referendum question on the
March 14, 1978 General Election ballot.
