RESOLUTION NO. R- 7d'-,!d/
A RESOLUTION GRANTING A SPECIAL USE EXCEPTION
TO ED-DEE SIGHT AND SOUND AT MCNAB PLAZA, 6730
NORTH UNIVERSITY DRIVE TO PERMIT A BOOK STORE
OPERATION ALONG WITH A GIFT AND STEREO SHOP.
WHEREAS, public notice has been given in accordance with the
applicable law of the time and place of public hearing, regarding
Special Exception Petition #17-Z-78, a request by ED-DEE SIGHT AND
SOUND to permit a book store operation along with a gift and stereo
shop in McNab Plaza, 6730 North University Drive, and
WHEREAS, the public hearing has been held on Petition 17-Z-78
by the City Council on June 14, 1978, and the public has been given
an opportunity to be and has been heard, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has examined and investigated the
request for the Special Exception and has reviewed the recommendations'
of the Planning Commission of the City of Tamarac, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems that the public health, safety,
morals and general welfare of the public would not be adversely
affected by granting such Special Exception.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the Special Exception Petition #17-Z-78 from
ED-DEE SIGHT AND SOUND to permit a book store operation along with a
gift and stereo shop in McNab Plaza, 6730 North University Drive is
hereby approved subject to compliance with all conditions expressed
herein.
SECTION 2: CONDITIONS OF APPROVAL:
(a) No outside external speakers in the store.
(b) That any books, photos, records, magazines and material,
which could not be sold to minors, would be kept behind
counters, and not available for perusal by the public.
(c) That no specific area is designated for such material which
could not be sold to minors.
(d) That the sale of such material that could not be sold to
minors shall not be a significant part of the stock of
the store.

(e) That the license shall be revocable by the Council,
after reports of violation, and after a hearing by the
Council.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its passage.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this /y day of 1978.
