CITY OF TAMARACC,, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING AND SUPPORTING
REQUEST OF CORAL RIDGE PRESBYTERIAN
CHURCH FOR A VARIANCE
WHEREAS, Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church owned 100 feet
right-of-way on University Drive across from Tamarac Elementary
School; and
WHEREAS, Broward County acquired title through Eminent
Domain proceedings to 60 feet of said right-of-way for the con-

struction of a pedestrian cross -walk over University Drive to the

Tamarac Elementary School; and
WHEREAS, Tamarac City ordinances require 100 _feet of.frontage
for business purposes; and l
WHEREAS, property owned by the Coral Ridge Presbyterian
Church is zoned; for business purposes; and

WHEREAS, the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church has applied or
will apply in the near future for a variance to allow the property j
to continue to be used for business purposes; and
WHEREAS, the application will be for property with a depth
no greater than the East line of the property immediately -adjacent
to the North.; and
WHEREAS, there appears to be a hardship imposed on the Church
which is not self-imposed; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac is in favor
of the granting of said variance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida, favors and recommends to the Board of Adjustment that the
Board of Adjustment grant a variance from frontage requirements to
the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church.

SECTION 2: That a copy of this Resolution be for-
warded to the Board of Adjustment.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective
upon receipt of a letter from Mr. Jack Baxter, representing Coral
Ridge Presbyterian Church, to the effect that any actions taken
by the City this date would be totally without prejudice in any
subsequent litigation pertaining to this property in the event
that the variance is not granted, and that in the event the
variance is granted, they will proceed forthwith to settle their
lawsuit with Broward County.
