CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.' --I`S — 3La
A RESOLUTION SHOWING THE INTENT OF THE CITY
COUNCIL TO TAKE WHATEVER ACTIONS IT CAN TO
OBTAIN A DESIGNATION ON THE BROWARD COUNTY
LAND USE PLAN THAT WOULD ALLOW A PORTION OF
PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CORAL RIDGE PRESBYTERIAN
CHURCH TO B'E SHOWN AS MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL
WHEREAS, property owned by the Coral Ridge Presbyterian
Church located on University Drive is designated as community
facilities on the Broward County Land Use Plan, and
WHEREAS, both the owner of the property and the City of
Tamarac are desirous of having that property shown as medium .density
residential property, and
WHEREAS, having a portion of that property shown
designated as medium density residential property would be compatible
with surrounding1 and uses, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac wishes to -take whatever
actions it can to have the property designated on the Broward-County
Land Use Plan as medium density residential, and
WHEREAS, City Council is also desirous of having the
Land Use Element of its Comprehensive Plan certified as expeditiously
as possible, and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that if'this
designation will preclude certification of its Land Use Plan that it
will designate the property however necessary for its Plan to be
certified, but that it will within a reasonable time thereafter, if
necessary, apply for an amendment to the Broward County Land Use
Plan for this property to be designated medium density residential.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council is in favor of a
portion of the property owned by the Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church
to be designated as medium density residential on its Land Use Plan
and on the County Land Use Plan and tht the City Council will take
reasonable actions to see that this designation is shown.

SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective
upon receipt of a letter from Mr. Jack Baxter, representing
Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, to the effect that any actions
taken by the City this date would be totally without prejudice
in any subsequent litigation pertaining to this property in the
event that the variance is not granted, and that in the event
the variance is granted, they will proceed forthwith to settle
their lawsuit with Broward County.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 13 day of S tember, 1978.
