RESOLUTION NO. - 8- S
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING OCTOBER lst
THROUGH OCTOBER 7th AS 4-H WEEK IN
THE CITY OF TAMARAC: PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
realizes the goal of 4-H is to provide opportunities for the
youth of Florida in the areas of leadership, citizenship and
personal development, and
WHEREAS, the Broward County 4-H Program this year assisted
5,611 young people between the ages of 8 and 19 years in their
four -fold development of Head, Heart, Hands and Health in fifty fo
organized clubs and special interest groups throughout the country.
WHEREAS, Broward County 4-H youth benefit from additional
incentives for personal development through participation in
camps, councils, State 4-H Congress and State and National
Citizenship programs;
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
is desirous of proclaiming the week of October 1st through 7th as
"4-H Week".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida supports execution of a Mayoral Proclamation to designate
the week of October 1st through 7th as "4-H Week" in Tamarac.
SECTION 2: This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
