CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. W-
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER AS
NATIONAL PTA/PTSA MONTH THROUGHOUT THE NATION
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida is
aware of the contributions made the PTA/PTSA, and
WHEREAS, the PTA/PTSA is a well organized Voice of the children
which has devoted 81 years of respected service to the children of
this nation; and
WHEREAS, the National Congress of Parents and Teachers, the
Florida Congress of Parents and Teachers, the Broward County Council
of PTA/PTSA and the Local Units of the PTA/PTSA comprised of 62millior
members (with more than 22,000 in Broward County alone) have in common
with the following objects:
To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school,
place of worship and community.
To raise the standards of home life.
To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children
and youth.
To bring into closer relation the home and school that parents
and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the training of
the child.
To develop between educators and the general public such united
efforts as will secure for every child the highest advantages
in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida supports execution of a Mayoral Proclamation to designate the
month of October as PTA/PTSA Month in Tamarac.
SECTION 2

This resolution will become effective immediately
