CITY OF TAMARAC,FLORIDA
RESOULUTION NO. -&
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING THE MONTH OF OCTOBER
AS BROWARD SYMPHONY GUILD MONTH IN THE CITY OF
TAMARAC; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida,
is aware of the support given to the Fort Lauderdale Symphony
Orchestra by the Broward Symphony Guild, and
WHEREAS, in October the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Orchestra
begins the celebration of its Thirtieth Anniversary, and
WHEREAS, reaching this glorious plateau has not been an
achievement of musical excellence alone - this month of rejoicing
is due in great part to the herculean efforts of the women in
West Broward encompassing Davie, Cooper City, Sunrise, Pembroke
Pines, Tamarac, Coral Springs, Lauderhill, Margate, North
Lauderdale and Lauderdale Lakes, and
WHEREAS, the citizenry of our Western areas are indeed,
proud and honored to live in a culture -rich community which boasts a
Metropolitan orchestra accredited by the AMERICAN SYMPHONY
ORCHESTRA LEAGUE, one which possesses a history of tremendous growth
and accomplishment as well as a splendid musical heritage and
nation-wide reputation, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Tamarac, Florida is
desirous of proclaiming the month of October, 1978 as "West
Broward Symphony Guild Month".
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida supports execution of a Mayoral Proclamation to designate
the month of October, 1978 as "West Broward Symphony Guild Month"
in Tamarac.

SECTION 2: This resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its passage.
