CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R- 7P-AP
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN
APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
COMMERCE FOR MEMBERSHIP IN THE FLORIDA
MUNICIPAL SELF INSURER'S FUND.
WHEREAS, the cost of insurance of various kinds has increased
substantially for municipalities, and
WHEREAS, the City Council, while maintaining the level and
standard of insurance coverage, wishes to reduce the cost of
insurance wherever and whenever possible, and
WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Commerce through the
Florida League of Cities, as Fund Administrator, is presently
offering membership to municipalities in a self -insurer's fund, and
WHEREAS, the Florida Municipal Self -Insurer's Fund offers
many advantages which would be of benefit to the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of
the City to avail itself of this offering by the Florida Depart-
ment of Commerce for membership in the Florida Municipal Self -
Insurer's Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the appropriate City Officials are hereby
authorized to execute an application to the Florida Department of
Commerce for membership in the Florida Municipal Self -Insurer's
Fund through the Florida League of Cities, Fund Administrator/
Trustee.
SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon its adoption.
