R--JP/ A RESOLUTION AWARDING CONTRACTS FOR DRY TONER TYPE COPYING MACHINES ON FISCAL YEAR LEASE BASIS. WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has heretofore advertised proposals for dry toner type copying machines on fiscal year basis; one (1) cut sheet plain bond type and one (1) roll paper plain bond type, and, WHEREAS, the Council is desirous of awarding the contracts for dry toner type copying machines on fiscal year lease basis; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the proposal of Eastman Kodak Model 150 AF in the amount of $1,085.00 per month for one (1) dry toner type copying machine, with cut sheet plain bond type, copy of which is attached hereto as exhibit "A" is hereby approved. SECTION 2: That the proposal of A.B. Dick - Model 990 in the amount of $136.97 per month for one (1) dry toner type copying machine, roll paper plain bond type, copy of which is attached hereto as exhibit "B" is hereby approved. SECTION 3: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. In the event the City of Tamarac elects to terminate equipment rental prior to September 30, 1979, the City of Tamarac shall pay the following termination charges: Termination on or before March 31, 1979, the payment will be three times the monthly minimum rental. Termination on or after April 1, 1979, and before September 30, 1979: The City of Tamarac will pay two times the monthly minimum rental or the monthly minimum rental for the remainder of the contract period, whichever is less. (2) Exceptions to Rental Termination Charges: (a) If the City of Tamarac purchases the rented machine. (b) If the particular organizational activity using the machine is disestablished or discontinued, and Kodak receives at least 30 days prior written notice of the termination of rental, stating such disestablishment or discontinuance as the reason for termination. (c) If the particular organizational activity using the machine requests from its legislative body the funds to be paid to Kodak, and through no action initiated by the City of Tamarac, such legislative body fails, neglects or refuses to appropriate such funds as may be designated by and enable the City of Tamarac to continue payment of the rental, and Kodak receives at least 30 days prior written notice of the termination of rental, stating the failure of the legislative body to appropriate the necessary funds as the reason for termination. City of Tamarac Bid No: #02-78-CC ATTACHMENT #1 Renewal Discounts for Annual Contracts Annual rental installations renewed at the start of a catalog year will be eligible for the following discounts: If an EKTAPRINT Copier/Duplicator has been continuously rented for 6 to 11 complete months at the time of renewal, a 3% discount will be allowed from the annual rental rate for the equipment and for the copy charges applicable to the annual rental plan. For second and subsequent renewals, the following discounts will apply: (a) If the machine has been continuously rented for 12 to 23 complete months, a 5% discount will be allowed from the annual rental rate for the equipment and for the copy charges applicable to the annual rental plan. (b) If the machine has been under continuous rental for 24 or more complete months, a 7% discount will be allowed from the annual rental rate for the equipment and for the per copy charges applicable to the annual rental plan. The above discounts will be calculated from the rates published in the State and Local Government Price Catalog in effect at the time of rental renewal.
