RESOLUTION NO. _]�-7
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE PROPER CITY OFFICIALS TO ENTER INTO
A MUTUAL FIRE ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT WITH THE
FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF FORT LAUDERDALE,
SUBJECT TO CERTAIN TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac has requested that the
City of Fort Lauderdale provide fire -fighting assistance to the
City of Tamarac within the boundary limits of the City of
Tamarac, and
WHEREAS, such fire -fighting assistance to be provided
by the City of Fort Lauderdale will involve service by the City
of Fort Lauderdale to those areas of the City of Tamarac which
are both within and beyond the city limits of the City; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is willing to
compensate the City of Fort Lauderdale for all fire -fighting
assistance provided by the City of Fort Lauderdale within the
boundaries of the City of Tamarac which are not within the city
limits of the City of Fort Lauderdale; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Lauderdale has, in turn,
requested the City of Tamarac to provide fire -fighting assistance
to the City of Fort Lauderdale for all areas within the corporate
boundaries of the City located within three miles of the outer-
most perimeters of the City of Tamarac's jurisdictional lands,
measured in all directions; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing to compensate the City
of Tamarac for all fire -fighting assistance provided by the
City of Tamarac as above specified;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

SECTION l: That the proper city officials
are hereby authorized and directed to execute a mutual fire
assistance agreement with the City of Fort Lauderdale, subject
to certain terms and conditions.
SECTION 2: That said agreement shall be
approved by the City Attorney of the City of Fort Lauderdale
prior to its execution by the proper City officials.
