CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. e- Z
A RESOLUTION DIRECTED TO THE STATE LEG-
ISLATURE URGING THEM TO ADOPT SENATE
BILL 231
WHEREAS, each year the legislature mandates programs
that require local governments to either participate in new
governmental programs or increase their participation in already
existing programs, and
WHEREAS, State mandated programs force local governments
to incur added costs which fiscally strain local sources of
revenue which are often not flexible enough to absorb the burden.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of
Tamarac is hereby urging the State Legislature to adopt Senate
Bill 231 providing that any law requiring municipalities to
administer any program or provide any service or facility include
a method of financing by the State of Florida for such program or
service.
SECTION 2: That the City Clerk is hereby directed
to send a copy of this Resolution to the Florida League of Cities,
Broward League of Cities, Broward County Legislative Delegation
and all municipalities in Broward County.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution will become
effective immediately upon its adoption.
