CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R - 7E-0-S'A
A RESOLUTION DIRECTED TO BROWARD COUNTY
URGING THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
TO ADOPT LEGISLATION SIMILAR TO SENATE
BILL 231
WHEREAS, each year the Board of County Commissioners
mandates programs that require local governments to either
participate in new governmental programs or increase their
participation in already existing programs, and
WHEREAS, County mandated programs force local govern-
ments to incur added costs which fiscally strain local sources
of revenue which are often not flexible enough to absorb the
burden.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council is hereby urging
the Board of County Commissioners to adopt legislation similar
to Senate Bill 231 providing that any law requiring munic-
ipalities to administer any program or provide any service or
facility include a method of financing by the County for such
program or service.
SECTION 2: That the City Clerk is hereby directed
to send a copy of this Resolution to the Florida League of
Cities, Broward League of Cities, Broward County Legislative
Delegation and all municipalities in Broward County.
SECTION 3: That this Resolution will become
effective immediately upon its adoption.
