CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-1<9_
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 20
TO FEBRUARY 26, 1978 AS ENGINEERS WEEK, AND
AUTHORIZING A MAYORAL PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS, the Engineering Profession has shown widence of
existence that dates back to the earliest days of recorded history,
and
WHEREAS, the Engineering Profession has been traditionally
regarded as one of the learned professions, and
WHEREAS, it has been declared to be a public policy of the
State of Florida that the practice of engineering by registered
professionals is a safeguard for the life, health, property and
public welfare of her citizens, and
WHEREAS, members of the Engineering Profession are charged
with having a strong foundation in the physical sciences, mathe-
matics, and oral and written communication, as well as the technical
aspects of various branches of engineering, in order to apply the
materials and forces of nature economically for the benefit of
mankind, and
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes the great work performed
by the Engineering Profession and wishes to express its apprecia-
tion of their work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the Council of the City of Tamarac hereby
declares the week of February 20 to February 26, 1978 as "Engineers
Week" in honor of the Engineering Profession and the Broward County
Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this day of�1978.
