CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL URGING THE
BROWARD COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION
TO INSTALL TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT CERTAIN LOCA-
TIONS ALONG PINE ISLAND ROAD (N. W. 88th
AVENUE.)
WHEREAS, Broward County Department of Transportation is
nearing the completion of construction of Pine Island Road, and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is experiencing a rapid growth
in population to the west, thereby creating additional traffic,
east and west through the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council is charged with the responsibility
of protecting the health, safety and welfare of the residents of
the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council in its endeavor to meet its respon-
sibilities wishes to voice concern of the increasing traffic pro-
blems in the City by strongly urging the Broward County Department
of Transportation to install traffic signalization along Pine
Island Road at Southgate Boulevard, West McNab Road and West
Commercial Boulevard.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Tamarac
hereby declares its strong support for the construction of traffic
control signals along Pine Island Road (N. W. 88th Avenue) at
Southgate Boulevard, West McNab Road and West Commercial Boulevard
in order to insure the continued safety of the residents of Tamarac
and travelers at large.
