CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-78-42
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING SUPPORT OF GOVERNOR
REUBIN ASKEW AND THE 1978 FLORIDA LEGISLATURE
REGARDING THE ENACTMENT OF A BILL CONCERNING
TAXING DISTRICTS FOR REFUNDING BONDS ISSUED
FOR RECREATIONAL FACILITIES.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac, Florida, is a community which
has been developed into single family residential subdivisions or
multi -family residential complexes, most of which are affected by
the provisions of recreation facilities leases, many containing
escalation clauses, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Tamarac has learned of
a bill to be proposed to the 1978 Florida Legislature and out of
its concern for the majority of the residents of this City, who
are affected by recreation facilities leases, wishes to call upon
the Honorable Reubin Askew, Governor of the State of Florida, and
all members of the 1978 Florida Legislature for equal consideration
and assistance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC,
FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the Council of the City of Tamarac,
Florida, does hereby request Governor Reubin Askew and all members
of the 1978 Florida Legislature, in the event they consider legisla-
tion with respect to the establishment of taxing districts for the
refunding of bonds issued in connection with recreational facilities,
to make such legislation of a general nature so it will be applicable
to all of the communities including but not limited to Planned Unit
Development communities with homeowners associations and vertical
and horizontal condominiums where recreation leases and escalation
clauses connected with them have presented such a distressing problem,
and so the standards will be such that, if possible, all homeowners
will be afforded the same opportunity to obtain relief in that
manner.

SECTION 2: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and instructed
to prepare and transmit certified copies of this resolution to the
Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and all Members of
the Cabinet, the Broward County Legislative Delegation, the Broward
County League of Cities, and the Florida League of Cities.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 15,V% day of 1978.
