CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, EXPRESSING THEIR OPPOSITION
TO THE PRIORITY LIST OF THE BROWARD COUNTY SCHOOL
BOARD REGARDING FUNDING IN VARIOUS AREAS OF
BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA
WHEREAS, the Broward County School Board has established
a priority list which provides the order in which various areas
of Broward County will receive funding for various educational
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City Council opposses the priorities
established therein in that they do not adequately provide for
the needs of western Broward County; and
WHEREAS, the City Council feels strongly that if the
priority list is followed as it presently exists, many children
residing in western Broward County will not be given the
opportunity to have a proper educational facility.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That this City Council go on record as
opposing the existing priority list and requesting that the
funding be determined on a more equitable basis as to those
persons residing in western Broward County.
SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall become
effective immediately upon its passage.
