CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION R- 740-6 7
A RESOLUTION URGING THE BROWARD COUNTY
COMMISSION TO SHARE IN THE COST OF CON-
STRUCTION FOR SIDEWALKS IN THE AREA
ADJACENT TO TAMARAC ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
AND ALONG NORTHWEST 88TH AVENUE
WHEREAS, the Broward County Engineering Depart-
ment has notified the City of Tamarac that they will share in
the cost of construction for sidewalks in the area adjacent to
Tamarac Elementary School, and
WHEREAS, the School Board will furnish to the
City of Tamarac a letter supporting a share arrangement for
those areas designated on the attached map, which is marked
Exhibit "A", and
WHEREAS, the Director of the Broward County
Engineering Department has requested a Resolution of the City
Council in order to expedite the County Commission's approval
of the cooperative agreement, and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that the
proposed sidewalk construction is not only a safety measure
for elementary school aged children but citizens of all ages.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC:
SECTION 1: The City Council does hereby urge
the County to cooperate with the City of Tamarac in constructing
asphalt sidewalks for elementary school aged children who will
be the primary users in the area of Tamarac Elementary School
and the new municipal park.
SECTION 2: The City does hereby request
Broward County to share in the construction of sidewalks
from Commercial Boulevard to Northwest 82nd Street along
Northwest 88th Avenue which is a major highway as designated
on the Broward County area transportation study as a main
thoroughfare servicing West Broward.
