CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION N0.
A RESOLUTION REPEALING ALL PROVISIONS IN
PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED RESOLUTIONS OF THE
TAMARAC CITY COUNCIL REQUIRING PROPOSED
ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS TO BE READ IN
FULL
WHEREAS, Section 166.041(3)(a) Florida Statutes provides
that proposed ordinances may be read by title only; and
WHEREAS, there is no requirement in the City Charter or
in the City ordinance that proposed ordinancesand resolutions be
read in full; and
WHEREAS, the public is provided the opportunity and
should review proposed ordinances and resolutions prior to their
consideration by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, reading proposed ordinances and resolutions in
their entirety i.s time consuming, and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 78-80 provides in part that
)roposed ordinances and resolutions are to be read in their -entirety.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That any provision in Resolution No. R-78-80
and any other Resolution that requires a proposed ordinance and
resolution to be read in its entirety is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2: That proposed ordinances and resolutions
ire to be read by title only at City Council meetings, however, at
"he request of any member of the Council, a proposed ordinance or
-esolution will be read in its entirety.
SECTION 3: This Resolution shall be effective immediately.)
