RESOLUTION NO. R- 79- /,3
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A MAYORAL
PROCLAMATION DECLARING THE MONTH OF JUNE
AS "Z00 MONTH" IN TAMARAC IN RECOGNITION
OF THE SECOND ANNIVERSARY OF MARKHAM PARK Z00.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac recognized the efforts of the
Zoological Society of Broward County, Inc., to establish an educational/
environmental/zoological "Living Museum" for the enrichment of our entire
community, and
WHEREAS, this facility, known as Markham Park Zoo, has welcomed
over 150,000 visitors since opening to the Public on July 4, 1977;
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the Mayor is hereby authorized to issue a
Mayoral Proclamation declaring the Month of June as Zoo Month in the City.
of Tamarac, commemorating the Second Anniversary of Markham Park Zoo.
