CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-
A RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING OCTOBER 24,
1979 TO BE UNITED NATIONS DAY, IN THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, AND AUTHORIZING A
MAYORAL PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS, the United Nations and its specialized agencies
tackle problems that affect us all, and
WHEREAS, among other achievements, the United Nations has
eliminated smallpox throughout the world, set up standards for
international civil aviation, and improved weather prediction
capabilities and international mail, and
WHEREAS, it is important that we Americans have the
opportunity to learn how the United Nations work is related to
our daily lives.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the Council of the City of Tamarac hereby
declares October 24, 1979 to be United Nations Day and
authorizes a Mayoral Proclamation.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this /0day of October, 1979.
