R-79-25 A RESOLUTION RAISING OBJECTIONS TO THE CITY OF SUNRISE LAND USE PLAN. WHEREAS, as the City of Sunrise is in the process of preparing a Municipal Land Use Plan; and WHEREAS, there are portions of said plan which are in the close vicinity to the City of Tamarac, which are objectionable; and WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac feels that the proposals of Sunrise to allow property located on Commercial Boulevard, designated as "Commercial" on the plan, to a depth of 610 feet, are unrealistic and undesirable; and WHEREAS, the Broward County Land Use Plan shows said property at a depth of approximately 300 feet; and WHEREAS, the traffic generated by the future development of the property with a 610 foot depth, would be so substantial that it would have a detrimental impact on the residents of Tamarac. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the City of Tamarac is opposed to depth of commercially designated land fronting on Commercial Boulevard between the Sunrise Musical Theater and the hospital site at 610 feet. This depth is more than twice that shown on the Broward County Land Use Plan, and the traffic generated by a commercial site with this depth, would be so great that the impact on the citizens within the City of Tamarac would be substantial. SECTION 2: The Sunrise Land Use Plan should show commercially designated land along Commercial Boulevard between the Sunrise Musical Theater and the hospital site at 300 feet as per the Broward County Land Use Plan. SECTION 3: A copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the Sunrise City Council, the Broward County Planning Council, and the Broward County Commission.
