CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R- 7 T/ l
A RESOLUTION DECLARING APRIL 30, 1979 AS A "DAY
OF REMEMBRANCE" IN THE CITY OF TAMARAC.
WHEREAS,the Jewish People have survived two millenia of
persecution and death, have risen above and rebounded from the
tragedy of repeated expulsion and exile time and again, have
re-established themselves in all parts of the world and have
made outstanding contributions to the well-being of their adopted
countries, especially so in this precious country of ours; and
WHEREAS, all freedom -loving people of conscience must not
forget the inhuman atrocities of the infamous Holocaust perpetrated
by Hitler and his cohorts; and
WHEREAS, the six million Jewish victims of genocidal madness
and the martyrs of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising, as well as the
millions of non-Jewish victims, must not be forgotten lest -such
insane bestiality rise again.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the Council of the City of Tamarac hereby
declares April 30, 1979 to be "Day of Remembrance" in Tamarac.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this day of April, 1979.
