CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION R-2019 -
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
SUPPORTING THE METROPOLITAN
PLANNING ORGANIZATION'S COMMITMENT
2045 "COST FEASIBLE" METROPOLITAN
TRANSPORTATION PLAN (MTP) PROJECTS
LOCATED IN THE CITY OF TAMARAC AND
IDENTIFIED IN THE COST FEASIBLE PLAN —
TAMARAC ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT
"A"; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Broward Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is working on
development of its Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP), "Commitment 2045"; and
WHEREAS, the MTP allocates available funding to maintain and improve
Broward's transportation system now and in the future; and
WHEREAS, the Broward MPO approved the draft Commitment 2045 MTP Cost
Feasible Plan on May 9, 2019; and
WHEREAS, State Road 7 Flyover/Interchange (North-South/ MPO Program Rank
5) and the Rock Island Road widening (South bound from McNab to Commercial
Boulevard / MPO Program Rank 16), within the City of Tamarac has been identified as a
transportation need and are currently ranked projects in the approved draft 2045
Metropolitan Transportation Plan Cost Feasibility Plan; and
WHEREAS, a resolution from the City of Tamarac Commission stating support for
the projects is required for the projects to be included in the final 2045 Metropolitan
Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac commits to working with the Broward MPO,

transportation partners, and the public to prepare the projects for programming in the
Broward MPO's Transportation Improvement Program; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1 : The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution; all exhibits attached hereto are incorporated herein and made a specific part
of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: The City Commission hereby commits to working with the
Broward MPO, transportation partners, and the public to prepare the State Road 7
Flyover/Interchange and Rock Island Road widening projects identified in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto, for programming in the Broward MPO's Transportation Improvement
Program.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk is directed to provide a copy of this Resolution
to the Broward MPO.
SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.

SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid,
in part or in application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or
applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 7: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
adoption.
