RESOLUTION NO. R-2000- / p/
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, RECEIVING THE TAMARAC 2000:
A STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THE CITY OF TAMARAC
DOCUMENT; ADOPTING THE GOALS OF THE TAMARAC
2000: A_ STRATEGIC PLAN FOR THE CITY OF TAMARAC
DOCUMENT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING
FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the health, safety and welfare of the residents and employees of the
City of Tamarac is a foremost concern of the City Commission of the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission and staff of the City of Tamarac have been
involved in a strategic planning process starting with the development of the Major Issues II
document in April, 1999; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission agreed in June, 1999 upon the issues upon which
City staff should focus its efforts; and
WHEREAS, the City staff gathered to prepare action/work plans on each issue,
encompassing scope of work, timeframe, and financial resources necessary to complete the
plan; and
WHEREAS, the Tamarac 2000: A Strategic Plan for the City of Tamarac document
(attached hereto as "Exhibit A") is a compilation of those action/work plans developed by
staff committees; and
WHEREAS, the Tamarac 2000: A Strategic Plan for the City of Tamarac document
is a "roadmap" for the future City activities; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the City Commission receive the
Tamarac 2000: A Strategic Plan for the City of Tamarac document; and

WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to receive the Tamarac
2000: A Strategic Plan for the Cit
y of Tamarac document.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as
being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: That the City Commission of the City of Tamarac hereby receives the
Tamarac 2000: A Strategic Plan for the City of Tamarac document.

Section 3: That the City Commission of the City of Tamarac hereby adopts the goals of
the Tamarac 2000: A Strategic Plan for the City of Tamarac document.
Section 4: That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: That if any clause, section, other part of application of this Resolution is held
by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or in
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion or applications of this
Resolution.

Section 6: That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
