R2000-105 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING FIVE (5) PUBLIC MEMBERS TO THE REDISTRICTING COMMITTEE PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 0-99-22; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 0-99-22 approved by a majority of the voters at the March 14, 2000 election, amends Article VI of the Tamarac Charter, Qualifications and Elections, Section 6.03, entitled "Redistricting" and provides for the Redistricting Committee to be appointed by District by the Commissioner representing said district, with an At -Large member to be appointed by the Mayor (a copy of Ordinance No. 0-99-22 is attached as Exhibit 1); and WHEREAS, the City Clerk, pursuant to Ordinance 0-99-22 has timely determined in writing on April 13, 2000 that the redistricting procedure is to take place in 2000; and WHEREAS, the Redistricting Committee shall serve until discharged at the last regular City Commission meeting prior to the next municipal election day; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to make appointments to the Redistricting Committee. Reso. #8985 Page 2 April 13, 2000 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That in accordance with Ordinance No. 0-99-22, the following people are hereby appointed to the Redistricting Committee for a term to expire February 27, 2002: Harvey Kram, appointee from District 1 Jerome Ginsberg, appointee from District 2 Hubert S. Klombers, appointee from District 3 Susan McCampbell, appointee from District 4 Barry Miller, appointee At -Large SECTION 3: The Redistricting Committee shall elect its own Chairperson. SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 1 Temp.
