R2000-162 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING NINE (9) REGULAR MEMBERS TO THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS COMMITTEE; APPOINTING TWO (2) ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS COMMITTEE; APPOINTING A CHAIRPERSON TO THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing nine (9) regular members and two (2) alternate members to the Consumer Affairs Committee to serve one-year terms; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-107 of the Tamarac Code (attached hereto as Exhibit A) members of the Consumer Affairs Committee shall be appointed by the City Commission to serve one (1) year terms; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-107 of the Tamarac Code, the City Commission shall appoint a Chairperson for the Consumer Affairs Committee; and WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends approval; and 1 1 Temp. Reso. #9004 Page 2 May 10, 2000 Rev. #1 June 15, 2000 Rev. #2 June 16, 2000 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint nine (9) regular members, two (2) alternate members and a Chairperson to the Consumer Affairs Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 2-107 of the Tamarac Code, the following people are hereby appointed as members of the Consumer Affairs Committee to serve one (1) year terms expiring June 26, 2001, or until such time as reappointments are made: Irving R. Cooper Elizabeth J. Kennedy Lenore M. Langer Henry Rohr Stewart J. Webster Carlton L. Harris Faye Koch Winifred L. Ostrum Adelyne Rubinstein Temp. Reso. #9004 Page 3 May 10, 2000 Rev. #1 June 15, 2000 Rev. #2 June 16, 2000 SECTION 3: That pursuant to Section 2-107 of the Tamarac Code, the following people are hereby appointed as alternate members of the Consumer Affairs Committee to serve one (1) year terms expiring June 26, 2001, or until such time as reappointments are made: Harold Kierstein Ralph Schelin SECTION 4: That pursuant to Section 2-107 of the Tamarac Code, the following person is appointed as Chairperson of the Consumer Affairs Committee: Faye Koch SECTION 5: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 6: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. 1 Temp.
