R2000-165 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPOINTING SEVEN (7) MEMBERS TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD; APPOINTING A CHAIRPERSON TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of appointing seven (7) members to the Parks and Recreation Board to serve one-year terms; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 15-43 of the Tamarac Code (attached hereto as Exhibit A) members of the Parks and Recreation Board shall be appointed by the City Commission to serve one (1) year terms; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 15-43 of the Tamarac Code, the City Commission shall appoint a Chairperson for the Parks and Recreation Board; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Director and City Manager recommend approval; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to appoint seven (7) members and a Chairperson to the Parks and Recreation Board. 1 1 1 1 Temp. Reso. #9007 Page 2 May 10, 2000 Rev. #1 June 15, 2000 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That pursuant to Section 15-43 of the Tamarac Code, the following people are hereby appointed as members of the Parks and Recreation Board to serve one (1) year terms expiring June 26, 2001, or until such time as reappointments are made: Brian Beaton Jerome Ginsberg Gladys Kupfer I_11"i7 P'i . , Irving R. Cooper Bernard James Mervin (Mickey) Levine SECTION 3: That pursuant to Section 15-43 of the Tamarac Code, the following person is appointed as Chairperson of the Parks and Recreation Board: Irving R. Cooper SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
