R-2000 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED FROM THE CITY OF TAMARAC TO BROWARD COUNTY GRANTING ADDITIONAL RIGHT- OF-WAY FOR A PROPOSED TURN LANE ON COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD NEAR THE SENIOR & COMMUNITY CENTER; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, as part of the construction of the Senior & Community Center, the City of Tamarac intends to construct a turn lane into the Senior & Community Center to provide for safe and efficient vehicular travel; and WHEREAS, Broward County has requested the City to convey a parcel of land generally located on the north side of Commercial Boulevard, east of Pine Island Road, as part of the Senior & Community Center site, located at 8601 West Commercial Boulevard, more particularly described in "Exhibit A" for use as a turn lane; and WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Director recommends that the appropriate City officials execute a Quit Claim Deed from the City of Tamarac to Broward County granting additional right-of-way for the proposed turn lane on Commercial Boulevard; and A Page 2 Temp. Reso. #8869 12/14/99 Revision #1 - 1/5/00 Revision #2 - 1 /7/00 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be in the best interest of the City of Tamarac to execute a Quit Claim Deed from the City of Tamarac to Broward County granting additional right-of-way for the proposed turn lane, attached hereto as "Exhibit 1 ". NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA; SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: That the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to execute a Quit Claim Deed from the City of Tamarac granting additional right-of-way to Broward County for a proposed turn lane on Commercial Boulevard near the Senior and Community Center, a copy of said document being attached hereto as "Exhibit 1 ". SECTION 3: That the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to record said document in the public records of Broward County, Florida. SECTION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. 1 1-i 1 1 Page 3 Temp.
