RESOLUTION NO. R-2000- 62-� G
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING ISSUANCE OF A
PURCHASE ORDER TO LEASE OF A DC470SDX DIGITAL
COPIER/PRINTER WITH NETWORK SCANNING
CAPABILITIES FROM XEROX CORPORATION, FOR A
PERIOD OF THIRTY-SIX (36) MONTHS AT A COST OF
$1,910.44 PER MONTH; UTILIZING PUTNAM COUNTY BID
#97-2; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac currently leases a Xerox 5365 copier which lease
expires November, 2000; and
WHEREAS, the Xerox 5365 copier has lost its effectiveness and does not have the
capacity to produce the quantity and quality of work necessary to meet the growing
demands of the City; and
WHEREAS, City staff has researched technology to determine the most effective
and efficient machinery to handle the desired functions and at the capacity required; and
WHEREAS, the Xerox DC470SDX Digital Copier has the functions necessary to
provide the quantity and quality of documents necessary to provide efficient copying
services to the various departments of the City; and

WHEREAS, the Xerox DC470SDX Digital Copier/printer has the ability to add
additional functions at such time as may be necessary; and
WHEREAS, Tamarac Code, §6-155 allows the Purchasing Officer the authority to
waive purchasing procedures and purchase equipment which is the subject of contracts
with the State of Florida, United States Government, or with other governmental agencies
and the City's Purchasing/Contracts Manager does hereby waive these procedures; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Assistant City Manager, City Clerk,
Director of Information Technology and Purchasing/Contracts Manager that the City issue
a purchase order to Xerox Corporation for the lease of a Xerox DC470SDX Copier/printer,
for an amount of $1,910.44 per month, which includes 80,000 copies per month, all
supplies and maintenance, (except staples and paper products as per attached Exhibit
"A"), utilizing Putnam County Bid #97-2 which expires September 30, 2001 (attached as
Exhibit "B"); and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to issue a purchase
order to Xerox Corporation for the lease of a Xerox DC470SDX Copier/printer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon
adoption hereof.
SECTION 2: The appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to issue a
purchase order to Xerox Corporation to lease a Xerox DC470SDX Copier/printer, with the
terms to be as follows: 36 monthly lease payments at $1,910.44 per month, which monthly
payment includes maintenance and supplies (except for staples and paper products),
80,000 monthly copy allowance, and $.0068 excess copy charge.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.

SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage
and adoption.

Dear Mr. Ippolito:
The Putnam County Board of County Commissioners, in meeting assembled
on the 26 h day of September, 2000, considered the staff recommendation to extend
the contract with you concerning rental, lease and maintenance of equipment and
the provision of supplies.
After discussion, it was the decision of the Board to accept the
recommendation of staff and extend the contract with Xerox Corporation through
September 30, 2001 at the same prices, terms and conditions. Jean Bell,
Purchasing Agent, will be in contact with you regarding this matter.
