RESOLUTION NO. R-2000- `
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING A
DONATION TO THE BROWARD PUBLIC LIBRARY
FOUNDATION'S ANNUAL FUNDRAISER, LITERACY FEST
2001; AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE BUDGETARY
TRANSFER OF FUNDS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida supports the
Broward County Library system which offers reading and educational opportunities to
the public; and
WHEREAS, the Broward Public Library Foundation holds an annual fundraiser to
raise funds for programs and services offered through the Broward County Library
system; and
WHEREAS, the Broward Public Library Foundation will hold Literacy Fest 2001,
its 2001 fundraiser; and
WHEREAS, the Broward Public Library Foundation is seeking a donation from
the City of Tamarac for Literacy Fest 2001, as indicated in Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be
in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to donate funds
to the Broward Public Library Foundation's annual fundraiser, Literacy Fest 2001.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

Section 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
Section 2: That the appropriate City officials are authorized to donate funds in the
amount of 60.40 to the Broward Public Library Foundation's annual fundraiser,
Literacy Fest 2001.
Section 3: That the appropriate budgetary transfer of funds is hereby approved.
Section 4: That all resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: That if any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or in
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion or applications of this
Resolution.

Section 6: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
