CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-2000- 4($
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING A $4,800 GRANT-IN-
AID TO THE WHITE-WILLIS THEATRE TO SUPPORT THE
THEATRE'S CONSTRUCTION EFFORTS; DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO MAKE ALL NECESSARY
ARRANGEMENTS FOR THIS GRANT-IN-AID; AUTHORIZING
THE APPROPRIATE BUDGETARY TRANSFERS OF FUNDS;
PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, the White -Willis Theatre is an important component of the City's cultural
experience; and
WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac supports having the legitimate cultural and artistic
experiences that are provided by the White -Willis Theatre to its audiences in a local setting;
and
WHEREAS, the White -Willis Theatre is a vital community organization whose
services benefit the City of Tamarac's population; and
WHEREAS, the White -Willis Theatre is the culmination of many years of efforts of
many members of the Tamarac community to provide quality theatrical performances in an
intimate setting; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager and Building Official recommend approval; and
WHEREAS, the grant-in-aid is a one-time expenditure that will be paid on a

reimbursement basis; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to authorize a $4,800
grant-in-aid to the White -Willis Theatre to support the theatre's construction efforts.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2: A $4,800 Grant -in -Aid to the White -Willis Theatre to support the
theatre's construction efforts is hereby approved.
SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby directed to make all necessary
arrangements to provide this Grant -in -Aid on a reimbursement basis.
SECTION 4: All appropriate budgetary transfers of funds necessary to implement
this program are hereby authorized.
SECTION 5: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 6: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 7: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage

and adoption.
