CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R2000-70
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
TAMARAC, FLORIDA, DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
MARCH 14, 2000 GENERAL ELECTION FOR THE CHARTER
BOARD DISTRICTS 2, 3, 4 AND AT -LARGE
REPRESENTATIVES; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS;
PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, a General Election was held on March 14, 2000, wherein the
electorate of the City of Tamarac elected one candidate for the Office of Charter
Board Representative from District 2 for a two-year term; and
WHEREAS, a General Election was held on March 14, 2000, wherein the
electorate of the City of Tamarac elected one candidate for the office of Charter
Board Representative At -Large; and
WHEREAS, candidates for Charter Board positions from Districts 3 and 4
ran unopposed; and
WHEREAS, the Broward County Canvassing Board has canvassed the
results of the machine voting and the absentee ballots, and has certified such
results to the City Clerk of the City of Tamarac; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk has reviewed the certification from the County
Canvassing Board and has presented her findings to the City Commission for a
formal Certification and Declaration of the results.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:

SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified
and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of
this Resolution.
SECTION 2: The following are the certified results of the votes received
by candidates seeking the Office of Charter Board Representative At -Large:
Lorna Bryan 4,219
Harvey Kram 4,039
Lorna Bryan, having received the highest number of votes cast is,
therefore, declared to have been elected as Charter Board Representative At -
Large for a term of 3 years.
SECTION 3: The following are the certified results of the votes received by
candidates seeking the Office of Charter Board Representative from District 2 at
the General Election held March 14, 2000:
Benjamin Hutt 4,905
Pete lerardi 2,830
Benjamin Hutt, having received the highest number of votes cast is, therefore,
declared to have been elected as Charter Board Representative from District 2
for a term of 3 years.
SECTION 4: Marcia Kantorwitz, having run unopposed for the Charter
Board Representative from District 3, has been duly elected for a term of 2 years,
pursuant to Section 8.01 of the Tamarac Charter, as approved at the March 14,
2000 Referendum Election.

SECTION 5: Bert Buckley, having run unopposed for the Charter Board
Representative from District 4, has been duly elected for a term of 3 years.
SECTION 6: Lorna Bryan, Benjamin Hutt, Marcia Kantorwitz, and Bert
Buckley shall take office in accordance with the provisions of Section 2-27 of the
City Code.
SECTION 7: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 8: If any clause, section, other part or application of this
Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or
invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions or applications of this Resolution.
SECTION 9: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
adoption.
PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 22nd day of March,, 2000.
