R-97- I g A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF EIGHT (8) MICROCOMPUTERS FROM GATEWAY 2000 UTILIZING STATE OF FLORIDA CONTRACT NUMBER 250-040-96-1 AT A COST OF $14,460; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Tamarac is in the process of implementing the new Municipal Information System; and WHEREAS, the implementation will span a time frame of twenty (20) months and training the City staff on the new system will be an important aspect of this project; and WHEREAS, eight (8) microcomputers are required to provide the necessary training; and WHEREAS, upon completion of the training, these microcomputers will be used to replace obsolete computers that are in use at that time; and WHEREAS, funds for this purchase are available in MIS funds; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the purchase of microcomputers from Gateway 2000. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and is hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. 1 1 Temp Reso# 7879 May 8, 1997 May 16, 1997 Page 2 SECTION 2: The purchase of eight (8) microcomputers at a cost of $14,160 IS HEREBY APPROVED to be purchased from Gateway 2000 utilizing State of Florida Contract Number 250-040-96-1. SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution. SECTION 5: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. PASSED, ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 4 day of M 4Y 71997. ATTEST: CAROL A.
