CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-97- &I
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA, HONORING WALTER
W. FALCK, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR EMERITUS OF
THE BROWARD LEAGUE OF CITIES AND FORMER
MAYOR OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FOR HIS MANY
YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, there are times when certain outstanding individuals should be
recognized; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission believes that Walter W. Falck, Executive
Director Emeritus of the Broward League of Cities, is one of these individuals; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida, deems it to be
in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to officially
recognize Walter W. Falck for his many years of public service.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: That the foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this
Resolution.

SECTION 2: That the City of Tamarac is proud to have Walter W. Falck as one
of its finest residents since 1971.
SECTION 3: That Walter W. Falck has made numerous contributions to the
residents of Tamarac by serving on Tamarac's Charter Review Committee in the early
1970's, filling a vacant City Commission seat in 1973 and serving as Tamarac's Mayor
from 1976 to 1984, watching our City grow from 5,000 people to over 32,000 during his
tenure.
SECTION 4: That in addition to Walter W. Falck's public service to Tamarac, he
has diligently served all of Broward County with his involvement in the Broward League
Cities in which he was active since 1978 when he began serving on the board and then
serving as League President in 1982. In 1984 Walter W. Falck was hired as Executive
Director and he has served the League ever since.
SECTION 5: That the City of Tamarac wishes to formally thank Walter W. Falck
for the many years of public service he has devoted to the City, the County, and the
citizens and residents who have benefitted from his work.
CTI N : That the City of Tamarac hereby recognizes and honors Walter W.
Falck and contends that South Florida is a better place because he has been an
integral part of our community.

SECTION 7: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby
repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION 8: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is
held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or
application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
SECTION 9: This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
