R-97- / S 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATION OF AN ADDITIONAL $15,659 TO THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING OF BROWARD COUNTY TO MEET THE AGENCY'S FAIR SHARE LOCAL MATCH FUNDING REQUEST FOR 1997; AUTHORIZING NECESSARY BUDGETARY TRANSFERS OF FUNDS; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Area Agency on Aging of Broward County (Agency) provides services for elderly residents in Tamarac; and WHEREAS, funding for the Agency comes from a mixture of federal, state, and local sources; and WHEREAS, the Agency requests that each municipality pay its proportionate share of the Agency's services known as the fair share local match; and WHEREAS, the fair share local match request for 1997 was $55,659, of which $40,000 was paid; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to authorize the appropriation of an additional $15,659 to the Area Agency on Aging of Broward County to meet the fair share local match request for Tamarac. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed 1 1 2 Temp. Reso. #7938 as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION 2: The appropriation of an additional $15,659 to the Area Agency on Aging of Broward County is hereby approved. SECTION 3: A budgetary transfer of funds of $15,659 in the General Fund from the line item Contingency to the line item Area Agency on Aging is hereby approved. SE TION 4: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTIQN 5: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
