CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. R-97-A
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF THE CITY'S
PROPERTY/CASUALTY INSURANCE
PROGRAM WITH THE FLORIDA LEAGUE OF
CITIES FOR A TWO YEAR RATE GUARANTEE
AND RENEWING THE CITY'S BOILER AND
MACHINERY POLICY AND FIREFIGHTERS
STATUTORY DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT
POLICY WITH ARTHUR J. GALLAGHER
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 1997, PROVIDING
FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR
SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the property/casualty insurance policies listed on Exhibit A have an
anniversary date of October 1, 1997; and
WHEREAS, the Florida League of Cities is willing to renew their policies at current
rates with either a modest increase (or decrease) in premium due to exposures such as
loss history, claims experience, and property values; and
WHEREAS, the Worker's Compensation premium increased approximately 18%
due to an increase in annual payroll, experience rating and annual audit; and
WHEREAS, the City is eligible for a two year guaranteed program offered by the
Florida League; and
WHEREAS, Arthur J. Gallagher has provided renewal premiums for the Boiler and

Machinery policy at the same rate as last year and has proposed additional policy limits
for the Firefighters Statutory Accidental Death coverage from $25,000 to $100,0000; and
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Risk Manager to approve the renewal
of the City's insurance program with the Florida League of Cities for a two year guaranteed
premium program and renew with Arthur J. Gallagher the Boiler and Machinery policy and
the Firefighters Statutory Accidental Death policy with the increase of coverage limits; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in
the best interests of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to approve the City's
property/casualty insurance program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and
confirmed as being true and correct and is hereby made a specific part of this Resolution.
SECT_14N 2;. The City Commission of the City of Tamarac, authorize the
City's property/casualty insurance program listed on Exhibit A in accordance with the
premiums listed on Exhibit A.
SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are
hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
$ C� TION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution
is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part or

application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this
Resolution.
