R-97- )Ll7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE APPROPRIATE CITY OFFICIALS TO APPROVE THE REMOVAL AND DISPOSAL OF LIME SLUDGE AT THE WATER TREATMENT PLANT FOR FY 98 FOR A PROPOSED AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $49,530 TO L.B. TRUCKING AND CONSTRUCTION INC., PROVIDED FOR BY BID NO. 97-21 B, AND APPROVE FUNDING FROM THE APPROPRIATE UTILITIES OPERATIONAL ACCOUNT; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS, PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, lime sludge is a by-product of the Water Treatment process and must be removed and disposed from the Water Treatment Plant site; and WHEREAS, bids were advertised in the Sun -Sentinel newspaper of general circulation in Broward County, Florida on Sunday, June 22, 1997 and Sunday, June 29, 1997; and WHEREAS, following bids were opened on Wednesday, July 9, 1997; and COMPANY NAME TOTAL BID International Salvage, Inc. $ 91,000.00 DRD Enterprises, Inc. 60,450.00 BLS Truck Equipment 61,750.00 L.B. Trucking & Const. 49,530.00 Temp. Reso. #7958 July 31, 1997 2 Revision #1 September 8, 1997 Revision #2 September 10, 1997 Revision #3 September 11, 1997 COMPANY NAME TOTAL BID Hardrives, Inc. $ No bid J & J Baker Enterprises No bid Austin Tupler Trucking No bid H & H, Inc. No bid WHEREAS, L.B. Trucking and Construction Inc., is the lowest fully responsive and responsible bidder; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Utilities and the Purchasing and Contracts Manager that L.B. Trucking and Construction Inc. be awarded Bid No. 97- 21 B for the removal and disposal of lime sludge at the Water Treatment Plant for FY98 at a maximum total cost of $49,530 with options to renew for two additional years in one year increments at the City's option; and WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Tamarac, Florida deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents of the City of Tamarac to award Bid No. 97- 21 B for the removal and disposal of lime sludge at the Water Treatment Plant to L.B. Trucking and Construction Inc. for an amount not to exceed $49,530. Temp. Reso. #7958 July 31, 1997 3 Revision #1 September 8, 1997 Revision #2 September 10, 1997 Revision #3 September 11, 1997 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF TAMARAC, FLORIDA: SECTION 1: The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution. SECTION The appropriate City Officials are hereby authorized to approve the removal and disposal of lime sludge at the Water Treatment Plant for FY98 for a proposed amount not to exceed $49,530 to L.B. Trucking and Construction, Inc., provided for by Bid No. 97-21 B, and approve funding from the appropriate Utilities operational account. SECTION 3: All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict. SECTION 4: If any clause, section, other part or application of this Resolution is held by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional or invalid, in part of application, it shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions or applications of this Resolution.
